MOR is a church seeking to establish the kingdom of God by speaking the truth of the gospel with the demonstration of power through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, sharing the love of Christ with all those we meet and reach out to.
Our story begins across the Atlantic in Panama and Montserrat.
Dorothy Dyer, our founding pastor, experienced a powerful calling from God after a dramatic spiritual encounter as a young woman. Despite family opposition, she committed herself fully to Christ and grew in prophetic ministry, serving across Montserrat and Antigua. Her faithfulness cost her dearly when, against God’s instruction, she migrated early to England. Yet even through hardship and personal loss, God’s hand of mercy preserved her.
Arriving in England in 1959, Dorothy faced the harsh realities of immigrant life and grief. She persevered, founding a small morning service in her home at Cuthbert Road in 1966 while supporting churches across London through music and ministry.
In October 1968, following divine instruction, she formally gathered her family at Elmsdale Road and began what would become the Ministry of Restoration Church (MOR Church).
The church moved from house meetings to Unity Hall, then Druids Hall, where revival broke out. The BBC filmed our services as MOR became recognised as one of the fastest-growing Black Pentecostal congregations in London. It was a time of prayer, youth ministry, and unshakable truth.
In 1973, the church transitioned to Valentine Road. During this period, God revealed new doctrinal truths: the call to wholeman salvation and the honoring of the true Sabbath. Though these revelations caused divisions, MOR stood firm. Prophecy fulfilled with pinpoint precision — including the death of Elder John Dyer — taught us to trust God's voice without compromise.
Forced out of Valentine Road, MOR worshipped at the Walthamstow School for Girls, known as the Green School.
During this season of setting up and packing down each week, faithfulness grew. Branches were planted in Nottingham and Cardiff.
Fundraising efforts birthed the Building Fund, sowing the seeds for a permanent home.
In 1987, by divine direction and sacrificial giving, MOR purchased its first property: the Temple of Truth at Higham Hill Road. Tragically, just one year later, Dorothy Dyer passed away — but not without preparing the church prophetically for the future. Leadership passed to Bishop Noel Dyer under God's clear guidance.
The journey continued through trials, silent seasons, and victories.
MOR Church remained steadfast, refusing to compromise truth. In 2011, during the ‘Glory in the House’ conference, God restored His prophetic voice among us, declaring, “I am back.”
When COVID-19 closed physical church doors, God led MOR into a new phase — livestreaming worship services first from the Temple, then from Bishop Dyer’s home by divine instruction.
In March 2022, the first online Sabbath Service from home — ‘The Lifter of My Head’ — marked a prophetic milestone.
Today, MOR Church stands where it has always stood: On truth, obedience, sacrifice, and the unchanging Word of God. From glory to glory — for His glory.
